I noticed on their fleet prognastication that they are adding a few jets a month over the next few years and removing a few Emb-120s.

Is there a "grand plan" to go all jet? And if not why retire the 120's?

Or, third possibility, not even Management really knows what to do! ;) :)

Thanks

Nope, no grand plans to go all jet. They are planning on keeping the Bro' for the forseeable future. Some of the markets, mainly out of Salt Lake either are too small field wise, or yeild wise for the jet. The ones we are letting go are old Comair, 'Lake, and other really old and beat up planes. But things could change and we may keep some of those... they are only planning on letting maybe a handful go right now anyway... but the only constant in this industry is change, so ya never know.

My prediction: Skywest will buy Delta in 2011 and staple all of the Delta pilots to the end of Skywest's seniority list.

Actually we are getting 4 EMB 120's for our expansion in IAH then there are a few schedule for retirement the next few years. United wanted us to get ride of them then with the Bankruptcy they wanted them back. As long as our headquaters is in SGU we will be flying the EMB 120. If you hurry to become all jet some one else will come in with turbo props and pick up the flying you dropped.

Like EFF said.............too many small markets. SBP, OXR, CRQ, and IPL come to mind. Runways are a bit short for the RJ and the yield would be too small.

Now that I find hard to believe... ;)

I believe we have a few RT's left (N593SW) as an example, but I will defer to someone who knows for sure................

To the best of my knowledge, there are twp that are still flying, several parked in SGU. They truly are gems! Nothing like being dispatched in and out of PSP when it's 44c! What astounding performance!

Um...Chairman, I think that was exactly Vorleron's point. Thus the little winky guy. Granted, sarcasm is an art lost on most internet message boards.

That is why we are flying turbo props in IAH for Contential Now!!!! believe it

Being a pretty cynical person, I do have a hell of a time on internet message boards...

Chairman, sorry it wasn't too clear, Bluto is right, that was exactly my point...total agreement with you...

:)

I guess it is hard to read into someones tone via email. My bad........................................:p

Umm yeah wonder where those 4 bro's came from? CAL just threw Connection where Express used to be and there you go 1 new one already on the ramp in IAH. Enjoy the added growth while my life get more miserable by the day!!! ILE, VCT, CLL, BPT, LCH, EFD, ACT, and many more to come probably

Chairman don't get too cocky about it. Believe That!!

Hagen, wasn't it nice of Express to completely refit those 120's before "retirement" too...

I'm just glad some of us furoughed people get to fly them, at least something good might come of it.

And don't blame Chairman, blame CAL.

Uh oh, someone is seeing the truth. This may foil Mr. 10 mill a year plus Bethune's master plan of turning pilots against one another. DRAT!
