Pretty darn senior and going, going, (almost) gone... at least on the EMB side. Jet side is fairly senior for both FOs and CPTs.

Not really. On the jet side PSP and SBA are sky-high. DEN, COS, TUS and ORD junior. SMF mid-top and then I'd say SLC is mid-bottom.

I'm not Rogue 5 but I'll try and answer your question.

Both domiciles are very small with under 10 EMB crews. Currently no one has a transfer bid in for SMF, however 3 people have bids in for SBA. With the high cost of living in SBA I can't imagine why you'd want to go there. There had been a rumor a year or two ago of a couple FO's living in a tent on the beach there because they coudn't afford the housing.

Thanks for your response, Socal. Well, I certainly can't imagine myself living in Fresno or Houston! Commuting might be an option for a while, but I'd rather be live close to a domicile. I do have a few friends in SBA, that is why I was asking. :)

Thanks!

Then perhaps you can imagine spending 170% of your monthly pay on rent in SBA.....

While I appreciate your point of view, I never asked for advice on where to live. You would have to be born on Mars to not know SBA's cost of living is high. I live in the Bay Area, so believe me when I say "I know!"

Fly safe!

It's true. One of them is a good friend of mine. They only needed a place to crash for 4 or 5 weeks before their transfer to FAT. Every where they looked it was going to cost like $1,000 to get an apartment or something similar. The park they stayed at was like $7 a day with a free hot shower. One slepted in the back of the truck and the other in a small tent on the ground. They flew alot so they weren't there very much. Saved a few dollars made an adventure out of it. Not too bad for a freight dog and a Army Ranger.

Fly Safe.

I'm based in FAT, but I don't live there. It's easy. It's called a car. I drive to work.

...and every time I'd drive in this nasty ugly city, I'd be reminded of why the heck I am based there... :D

Yeah..........and I live 35 minutes from Yosemite National Park, 20 minutes from Bass Lake, 30 minutes from snow skiing, 3 1/2 hours from my 'rents house and surfing (Santa Cruz), mountain biking in my back yard. In other words it's what you make it.

You could bid FAT and bid a more senior line, or you could go to SLC or worse PSP in the RJ and sit reserve forever. Your choice.

"and every time I'd drive in this nasty ugly city, I'd be reminded of why the heck I am based there... :D"

and with an attitude like that....you'll just be sooo welcomed in FAT, much less Skyw. (I looked at about 90% of all newhires have been going to FAT, so I wouldn't dog it too much.) Phat ain't all bad. I spent a year there, just transfered, and wished I was still there.

peace out to my phat bro's,
Mookie...

Nice attitude yourself. :) I never said I would disregard FAT as a temporary choice. Yes, commuting is certainly an option. Just remember that everyone's lifestyle is different, that's all. That is the reason why I started this thread, to get an idea of how senior the different domiciles are. My intention in starting this thread wwas not to start a debate on where to live.

I realize this medium sometimes leads to misinterpretion of people's comments due to the lack of facial expressions. Regardless, I do appreciate all your inputs!
