They are doing group interviews for pilots now too? I thought only flight attendants were interviewed that way...

guess that is why my interview was re-scheduled from the 7th to later in the month.

here's a question, could I still go to the group deal in SLC and do a portion of the process, then return on my scheduled date to do the rest?

is the group process just to find people who they will interview later with sim, tests, etc., or are folks going to be offered jobs the day of the group deal?

SkyWest has used the travelling road show format in the past. In the past you went to the hotel conference room and were greeted by the interview team. The written and mechanical tests were administered. The interviewers had small tables set up around the edge of the room and they would call out individuals while others were taking the tests for the HR and tech portion. If you passed you received an invite to SLC to fly the sim.

it wouldn't hurt to show your face. they like to see people to go out of there way to meet them. You will also get some good info on the company. If you are in one of those cities, go. Maybe you will get the written out of the way.

Question:

In order to be accepted to interview at one of these group interviews, do you need to have an application on file? If not, do you need to bring one with?

Thanks.

How does ist work?

I am scheduling a trip to go to Salt Lake and check it out.

I have a couple of questions to those who have done this sort of thing.

1. I suppose you go dressed up in the blue suit for interviewing?
2. What if 3000 unemployed pilots show up?
3. Do you need to call them saying you are going?
4. Taking letters of recommendation at this point helps?

Appreciate the response.

Curious but didn't you just recently start with AWAC?

I forwarded these to the recruiting manager and these are the answers I got.

"My interview was re-scheduled from the 7th to later in the month. Could I still go to the group deal in SLC and do a portion of the process, then return on my scheduled date to do the rest?" Yes. It's OK with the team either way.

"Do you need to have an application on file? If not, do you need to bring one with?" No and No

"I suppose you go dressed up in the blue suit for interviewing?' Yes

"Do you need to call them saying you are going?" No

"Taking letters of recommendation at this point helps?" Yes

Good luck

Thanks, Andy. Good to see you pop up here every once in a while!

I have 2300 TT, 200 Turbine is it worth going with not the competitive mins.
I wouldn't go until you have someone check your resume to make sure it is with not errors.

The application page on the SkyWest site has now been updated as well, it reads:

If you are interested in a pilot position at SkyWest Airlines please e-mail a cover letter and an updated resume to [email protected]. Thank you for your interest.

I am planning to go to the traveling road show in Denver. I was wondering if they do most of the interview there (written tests, HR, Systems) and then if you pass that and they like you, you schedule a sim in SLC? It just seems like a lot to do in short period of time when there is going to be so many people that show up. Thanks for the input.
