Your source is waaaaayyyyyyy off. There are lots of things going on at Skywest right now, but increasing their payroll is not one of them. Their CEO has stated over and over that he's looking for the lowest CRJ70 rates in the industry.

Sorry

I hear skywest is working on a new contract that could best comair. Anybody?

Skywest doesn't have a contract.

Our current agreement expires in Dec 2004. We don't have a history of going with an expired agreement, so it's a pretty safe bet we'll have a new one in Jan 2004. Those on the pay committee are optimistic, some others are less so.

We also have a union drive at Skywest. There will be a union vote in a couple of months. If we vote in a union then our current agreement stands until our union negotiates a contract. It's anyone’s guess as to how long it will take to negotiate a contract. There is a lot of speculation. Anyone care to take a shot?
