Anyone have any trouble with Sprint PCS coverage on Skywest RJ outstations? Sprint is always a good deal if you can stay in their own digital network, but gets crazy expensive when roaming. If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know.

I had sprint in the past, and there are many out station's that do not get service. I now use ATT. You need someone with service in all mountain states.

The only places we go I don't have coverage is Montana and South Dakota (I think). Their coverage is getting bigger and bigger all the time. I just carry a 3.9 cent/min Sam's Club calling card that I use in the hotel when I can't use the cell.

We get a discount, 5% I think. I called a few months ago and said I worked for United Express and they gave me the 10% United discount.

I won't mince words here.....IMO Sprint blows. Just because they supposedly have coverage in an area doesn't mean it will be anything close to reliable coverage. For example, I did a TDY in Washington DC once and the flight office warned me that there had been people using Sprint who had missed reserve callouts while walking around *downtown* because of bad coverage. I was making calls on ATT from inside the Smithsonian without a problem and even had weak service down in the basement of some of the buildings.

I'd say most of the people I know that have Sprint were lured in by the cheap airline discounts--I was one of them for a short time. However when it comes down to reliability of the service I believe ATT to be far superior.
