I heard something similar from our CP a couple weeks ago.

DO Jets
I heard the question asked on this thread earlier. Butrell, told us in a meeting today they will go to Skyway if DAL avoids CH. 11. Comair's bid could not compete with skyway due to some kind of lucrative engine deal skyway has with Pratt and Whitney. Also, he mentioned he did not want to 'burden' comair with the ramp up costs for an equipment type that were not in the long term plans for DCI. I believe 2-3 years was mentioned. If DAL files ch. 11, which could happen in as early as 30 days, FLYI will be stuck with the leases. Butrell also mentioned, DAL had the first rights to the US air CHQ planes in the event of liquidation over there. Among other things.

Lets hope for our sake they dont file, otherwise things could get ugly.
Also, If we do get the deal, I find it interesting that the Dojets are not in the long term plan. Hopefully, that 2-3 years coincides with our ERJ orders. Things should get interesting by the end of this month.

Good luck to all affected by DAL.

I have a feeling Dalpa will hold up it's end. They don't want the ship to sink either. There will have to be something done with early retirement issues. And, I think if Delta and Dalpa can GUARANTEE the lump sums for the early retiring guys for an extra 3-4 months, they will not all bail at once, which would leave most of the heavy equipment without Captains--thereby grounding the INTL fleet. I think a lot will leave anyway---but if they stay an extra 3-4 months--that gives Delta time to train people up. I can see that happening. Now, the next part that we need to work is help from the creditors etc....

General,
Does this statement pertain to this thread or was this meant for a different one. Thanks for the clarification.

Hey Zeroline,

The General was talking about the probability of DAL going bankrupt due to early pilot retirements. No, he was not directly addressing the Skyway question but he was partially addressing the concerns of the question.

Zeroline,

Yes, I wrote it for this thread because that is a major reason people think DAL could go Chap 11, and if something is worked out with Dalpa and they get the pay cuts etc---then SKYWAY may keep those Dorniers. I am very happy to clarify this for you. You are welcome.

Is there any place I can get solid real news on the delta and skyway deal on the net to track it?

Thanks

Justino

Roger that.

Zeroline,
Whats this crap about the Jungle Jets? Those orders are long gone, thats why you see 145s with a SK tail number in STL in American Connection colors. You stick areound here until they come online. Drinking some of Jims new hire talk cool aid? As for the 328's, if Skyway does not get them they are not Screwed. Just anyone with a number over about 200 to 230.
