Anyone have any good info on skyway. Got a call yesterday for an interview, what are the new hires flying, upgrade time, quality of life, bases etc anyinfo would be great thanks.

Unless you're going to work there so you don't have to commute. Why go there when there are more stable airlines out there, better pay and require the same ammount of time as them?

I worked there during the Delta Do-328 build up. I wound up somewhere else after that deal fell through. It is true it is a small place. The training at Skyway was the best and most thorough out of the two part 135 gigs and two part 121 gigs I have had. It is a shame they don't grow. The people there are awesome also. Give it shot, most people don't realize that all the regionals are hiring. If you don't like it you can get a job some place else.

I worked for Skyway for 6.5 years and I enjoyed everything about it. There where times when I hated the job, but that was my own fault and not the airlines. I commute to California, and to add insult to injury I now commute to JFK.
The training at Skyway is second to none, and if your not a good pilot when your done there then nothing is going to help you. I flew the 1900 then the 328 as both Captain and as an FO. Everything that I learned I took with me to my current 121 gig, and it worked because I made it through training without any trouble.
It's a small pilot group and you get to fly with everyone, and get to know everyone very quickly. They are more like a family than any other place that I have ever worked for.
So if your asking yourself if you should go, there are things to consider. One the 1900 has no autopilot, not really a big deal but if you want your skills to improve then go. The upgrade time is slow, but if your goal is to build good time and move on to a major your going to have to fly. right or left seat. Last time I looked the min's where I now work are right around 6,000 hours.
Your going to fly into small airports, and some large ones. Both are going to expose you to every aspect of aviation. The men and women that you will be flying with are great. People know your name and your not just a number there.
The down side is as with all regional airlines is the pay, the days are long and the winters suck. Then there is Milwaukee, if your from there great if not then your going to be bored. But you'll have friends and there is plenty to do in the summer time.
So low time guys and gals go for it, even if your there for a few months. The training is worth it, and it gets you into 121 flying. That alone is worth it's weight in Gold.
Good luck!

Yes, you can expect Skyway to be bought out someday soon by SkyWest. Enjoy!

oh, i thought it was YX
Skyway:

Great People, Great training. The people that don't like it here are the silver spoon kids that have an unwarranted sense of entitlement. not too many though

You only have 5 years skywest, actually you are the only ones that fell for that. There might be a reason it wasn't 10 or 15 years.
