I am a CFI who was recently hired by Skyway Airlines as First Officer, along with seven others that I know of. We are in the pool with rumors of a June class date. I'd like to hear from people who work for Skyway and maybe get some ideas on where to stay during training, your opinions on the airline, and what you think of WI. (never been there). I am also considering commuting to work and would probably need a crash pad if that is the case. Any other help would greatly be appreciated. Looking forward to working with you all!

Congratulations racer!!

I'd like to hear from people who work for Skyway and maybe get some ideas on where to stay during training,

Baymont hotel is 30$ per night and you will get a list of available crashpads in the first week of class.

your opinions on the airline

As long as your budget can afford it its a great airline to work for, and pay rates do go up a little up in August. Also, growth could be incredible if we get Indys 328's.

and what you think of WI

Summerfest is awsome

Congrats.

Yeah, the Baymont's a good deal, most people are staying there.

Commuting, depends on where you're from. If Midwest or Skyway doesn't serve it, it could be a two-leg commute. I'm sure there are many people on this site that can tell you what they think about commuting in general. I've lived in MKE, and it's been a great place to live. If nothing else, you might find some people in ground school you could start a crash pad with.

And if we do, and if we dooo, get the ACA 328's you'll be looking at less than a year to upgrade (probably in the 328 in CVG). Hiring has picked up for an indefinate time frame, with many small classes now being favored over large (+20). I've liked working here, the people have been great to work with. Some of Midwest's decisions are hard to stomach, but overall things have been getting MUCH better. Now is the time to get in here. Good luck.

Ditto on Summerfest, it's a blast.

whats up
pay goes to 18.57 an hour in aug from 17.57, I know its not much but its probationary pay and concessionary pay. PLus the perdiemrules change to hourly instead of overnight perdiem.

Reserve times could be a few months on the jet due to getting overstaffed in anticipation of the delta deal. Since the comp is getting fat on pilots so they can move them to CVG when delta wants us too.
For the beech I was up there in my beech class, I was on reserve in May, just bc I couldnt bid since I finished OE after the deadline and I have a line for june. there are 13 in class now for the beecn so i expect an short reserve time as well a few months max. this is all speculation and depends on delta going through or not.

regards

Hey GFRacerX, how long after you sent your stuff in did you hear back?? Is there any chance of flying 80-90 hours lines at skyway??

how long after you sent your stuff in did you hear back??

I got my resume in Mid feb and got a call for an interview in April. I just got called for the June class!! Im very excited start. The class has both jet and prop.

Well I got my good news today! June 7th class with 27 people in the class. There will be more jets avail for this class than the Beech.

congrats and welcome aboard. training is excellent and I think you will like it here, as much as I do

Good Luck

The 2nd day of class you pull a number out of a hat for your senority number, then you bid on your desired plane. No age.
