There was a Skytaxi out here in the Northwest as well till recently. We all had a good laugh at their expense. Don't know if that'll help you...

It is the same company... I guess they are just going to try again with a different strategy.

If it's the same "strategy" they used out here, it should be as funny on your side of the continent as it was out here.

Example: A 150 NM one-way charter (or, "taxi"), for $50 per seat. Carrying two pax. Different strategy or not, they cannot change the economics of operating a C414. A great airplane, so I hear, but old and getting hard to service. From what I saw/heard, though, the airplanes were maintained and equipped well.

I heard the company was looking at the Adam A500 as a replacement for the Cessnas. Again, pretty high operating costs, but newer airplane.

That being said, I knew a couple people who flew for them. Management seemed to be a joke, but the pilots did get lots of high-quality flight time (Part 135, pressurized twin) and flew to lots of fun airports.

I assume you post because you are interested in working there. Again, it seemed like a fairly poorly run outfit out here, but the work is far better than humping boxes in an ugly Cessna or Piper twin. And, more importantly, it will fill in some very important spaces in your logbook. They even had/have positions for SICs (don't know how they work that), so you might even be able to get on with your under-1200 hrs TT.

Hope this helps,
C

Does anyone know the mins(hours) for Air Taxi?

Same guys, same strategy. It won't work. They're talking about charging a buck-a-mile or so per seat, like they did in Oregon, and it simply can't work. We told 'em that when we started working for 'em in '02 and they didn't believe us. Run away as fast as you can.
We had some good pilots, really good, but the business model simply can't work.
