My guess is that SX....which might as well be SuX....well be around for a little while. Probably stabilize at a fleet size similiar to what allegiant has now. But never really be a threat to anyones jobs. You don't see many companies sitting down at the negotiating table wanting to include allegiant, champion, pace, etc...in bargaining for contracts. Doesn't make their crap pay any better though.

On a side note: their uniforms are hideous. I was on the employee shuttle in CMH the other day and saw a couple of their pilots. Khaki shirts with dark green pants. I thought they were forest rangers or from the DNR at first. They looked about as cheap as their airfares.

Ok..This is the one area I agree with!! It is about time an airline got rid of the crappy white collars and ties! I say this is the ONLY cool thing about Skybus. More uniforms like this I say! SWA has a hot FA uniform..why not? A pilot is not judged by the clothes they wear. Be comfortable and look nice. That can be done far better than a sweaty rumpled shirt I see on half the airline guys out there in summer. Besides forest rangers are cool!

This is stuff that's been rehashed hundreds of times already. The passengers know where they're going. There have been no reports of anyone landing in Bellingham and thinking they were going to be in downtown Seattle.
Keep in mind that most of the airports SX goes into ARE the main airports of that city.

Do you not think it's misleading to advertise that you fly to Seattle, when Bellingham is 100 freaking miles away? Why not just advertise that you fly to BLI?

Actually, we are. The passengers know nothing about us other than what they see when we walk up to the podium and grab the paperwork. Passengers don't want a forest-ranger flying their plane; they want a professional pilot. Like it or not, our uniforms have remained largely unchanged for 70 years, and that's what the passengers want to see.

Well, let's look at that:

"Boston" = Portsmouth, NH, 50 miles away
"Hartford" = Westover, MA, 30 miles away
"Seattle" = Bellingham, WA, 94 miles away
"Vancouver" = Bellingham, WA, 50 miles away
"Daytona Beach" = St. Augustine, FL, 60 miles away
"Jacksonville" = St. Augustine, FL, 35 miles away
"San Francisco" = Oakland, CA, 20 miles and a bridge away
"Los Angeles" = Burbank, CA, 16 miles away.

6 of their destinations are in the main airports of their advertised cities, while 8 are into airports ranging from 16 to 94 miles away.

How exactly does that add up to, "most of the airports SX goes into ARE the main airports of that city"?

It's deceptive advertising, no matter how you rationalize it.

Yawn....it's not deceptive when it's stated on the web site exactly what airport you'll be flying into. It's just like the fine print on any contract...if you don't read it, you can be held accountable.....sure it sucks, but businesses do things to their advantage....all businesses.

Did someone above just call an SX pilot a turd? I feel like I'm on a playground with a bunch of 10 year olds....the sad part is that most of you are probably much older than me.
