Just read on PBB.

In the "Interesting Tidbits We Have Heard" department, a PBB subscriber wrote to us last week, to add more to SkyWest's recent comments in their earnings call concerning possible "Plan B" scenarios which would see the airline expand beyond its current "regional" only flying for major partners.

According to our subscriber, SkyWest CEO Jerry Atkin was in the Denver SkyWest pilot lounge last week, talking up the idea of getting bigger planes and operating the US Airways Shuttle as a standalone operation.

Hmmmmmm.......so I wonder if General and the boys at DL will go nuts over another group of DL Connection pilots having the audacity go on their own and fly larger aircraft???? Better be careful not to step out of line or the big bad DL MEC will have to slap you back into line........maybe they can "Defend the Profession" by having another group of pilots come in and fly SKW aircraft for less money.........hey that's never been done before......has it?!?!?!?!

But maybe they will give you a break if you have been helping by hiring DL furloughs without forcing them to resign recall rights........unlike those nasty Comair pilots who demand more than just the DL MEC guarantees of cooperation and friendship......ooops you say ACA was nice enough to hire DL furloughees????? And not make them resign recall rights???? Well then I'm sure the DL MEC wouldnt take actions that would result in ACA pilots being furloughed.....after all, they were nice enough to help out DL furloughs in their time of need..........

You say the DL pilots said screw the ACA guys they're gone in October??????!?!?! Gee, wonder why the Comair guys keep telling the DL guys to kiss off????? Maybe because they know the DL guys will screw them anyway, whether they help out or not???

Oh, better keep wearing those hats in the terminal too......wouldn't want the DL pilots to see you without them and get upset................

Doubt it will EVER happen. Skywest won't bite the hand that feeds it with DIRECT competition on such lucrative routes....

Nope.

Pay negotiations are to begin very soon.

Jerry, is that a carrot in your pocket or are you just glad to see us.

Good Day...

P.S. What is the PBB?

USAir just announced their possible 2nd bankruptcy and potential sale of their east coast shuttle. Any theories?

2nd Bankruptcy is the threat that will be used against the rest of the employees who fail to jump on board the next cost cutting campaign. I think this is a real possibility as there are plenty of employees who are done giving, and are willing to ride the ship to the bottom.

There will be a real bidding war for the Shuttle between AMR, Virgin USA, and JBLU. Skywest may try a bid also, and certainly has the balance sheet to match any of the above. They need to move quickly with their pilot group to have all the ducks in order when the bidding starts. Virgin and Skywest will have a bottom line advantage in pilot costs, unless Jetblue plans to use the 190 on these routes.

When all is said and done, I believe a 2nd Bankruptcy is inevidable. The airline will probably be reduced to half the present size by this time next year with mostly an Airbus and Embraer fleet. They may hold on to a few 757's, and the 767ER's.

What about ACA/Independence?

Independent Air is projected to have about $175M at the end of it's first year of operation. That number sent the stock tumbleing to where it is today. I doubt they will have the balance sheet to bid, and they will be too occupied getting the new airline off the ground.

OHHYEAAA,

It's not a carrot, he is glad to be negotiating with the guys who bent over on the 50-99 seat deal,
you can trade that paddle jet in for a 73 and not have to worry about paying more taxes or changing tax brackets.
Belly up to the kool-aid machine, guaranteed to freeze your brain and tastee too!!!

PBR
Just waitin'for the next pay package and wonderin'
how much I am gonna have to give back. Again...
