I had one of these during descent the other day, and it's kind of freaking me out. It was pretty brief, but very painful for the few seconds it was occurring. Strangely enough, it happened while slowly descending from 10000' to 5000' on an ILS, which I wouldn't have expected. Since then, I've done much more rapid descents from higher than 10000' to lower than 5000', and haven't had a problem. Any idea what could have caused it? My left nostril was slightly congested, but it wasn't a big deal.

Any tips to prevent it from happening again?
