I have an interview coming up and the company is going to put me in a simulator at flight safety and observe my flying ability. My problem is this: I have never flown an aircraft with a glass cockpit. I am used to King Air panels. Does any one know how I can get some practice in a glass cockpit simulator? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

First question: What type of glass? Is it an EADI/EHSI? If so, same scan as your trusty King Air. On more advance EFIS systems, 80% of the information you'll need will be on one screen directly infront of you, thus making your scan a breeze.

I'm sure this company has taken your experience into account and they'll be looking at your basic flying skills, speed control, probably an ILS approach. Unless you have a sadistic S.O.B. checking you I doubt you'll see any serious problem or raw data ILS's to mins!

Tell us what type of aircraft you're being checked on and I'm sure someone on this board will have some great advice for you.

Good luck!

My company does this also.

Its no big deal, you are not expected to know how to use all the toys. - Just fly the plane like you fly your King Air. Ask for something if you need it. Dont try anything new, and dont waste your time/money trying to quickly learn the sim or glass..thats what initial is for.

they interviewed and are considering hiring you based on your known experience. Dont sweat it.

Be a likeable guy, show Captain traits, brief clearly, etc...

good luck
