Hey,

Since leaving active airline operations, I have been teaching advanced ground school and Simulator instruction for our airline prep school.

I was wondering if there is a certification process for those like myself that want to teach Sims for the larger companies like Flight Safety and such?

Though I hold a private instrument and Dispatch license, I no longer hold a flight medical, I don't know if I need a AGI license or not and what else I would be required to get in order for the students to be able to log the time I teach in a SIM.

Does anyone have an idea what I need to do to be hirable as a simulator instructor?

Thanks

don't need an AGI, nor do you need a medical. Just need a lot of patience with some of the clients :)

excuse my ignorance

I am just wondering how are you teaching in a sim or ground school without a CFI rating. If I am not mistaken either CFI, ATP or AGI is required. I myself would like to find a opprotunity with Flightsaftey but no jet time.

A type rating in the plane you want to instruct in and patience. I worked as a sim instructor and PC check airman for an airline....sims burn you out after a year or two. Imagine watching the same movie over and over 5 times a week for a year......
