Simuflite DFW ... Gouge?? Hotels??

Hello...

I will be attending class at Simuflite Lear 55 Recurrent in November and would like advice on hotels nearby and any good sim information.

Thank you very much.

Our last trip to Simuflite, they booked us at the Hampton Inn & Suites DFW North in Grapevine. It is a short drive from the facility and a great hotel, convenient to Grapevine Mills and lots of restaurants. I believe they got us a rate of $99 per night. Plus, if you're a loyalty program junkie like me, you get Hilton HHonors points AND airline miles for every stay. It was a great hotel and I have every intention of returning on my next Simuflite trip in February.

Good luck in training ...

Grapevine works really well. Several hotels in the Hwy 121 & 635 area. Grapevine Mills mall is also there as well as Outdoor World when you need that study break.

What program will you be in?

A friend stayed at the Harvey. It's up by Grapevine with van service to the mall. For AA crew, it's $25 a night when they have rooms(they usually do) so they may be able to work you a similar deal.

There were quite a few Simuflite students there when I was there last month.TC

there is everything from motel 6 to the Hilton / Embassy suites around the airport. Hotels at the north and south side are little bit more expensive. If you are looking for something cheap try the Ramada in Bedford. Do you have a car? That's needed for the cheaper ones. I think Simuflite has certain deals with hotels, call them

The Harvey is great - Rooftop Jacuzzi with the southbound landings right overhead.

For food - Esparza's (Mexican) and Capri (Italian) in downtown Grapevine and North Main Street BBQ in Euless.

I wish you success!

The Harvey Suites- free adult beverages 5-7!!!! Need I say more?
Besides, it's only recurrent!!:D

Go for the Embassy Suites. Free adult beverages every evening. A big breakfast in the morning to send you off to school. Bass Pro Shop is attached to the hotel and the Mall is right up the street. Courtesy van is available.. Good luck and have fun.... Hilton Honors points provided..

WHAT?!?

Free booze AND the Bass Pro Shop at the hotel!!! Can I move in there permanently?:D TC

Last two trips to simuflite Dallas I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express...it's literally only a 5 min. van ride each morning...and you can walk to a bunch of different resturants, ect....

I just booked there for an initial next week. The Simuflite rate was 79 bucks. Highspeed internet in the room, muchies for breakfast, and transportation to and from the training center. No need at all for car if you stay there.

HARVEY, HARVEY, HARVEY!!!!!!!! Great food at the restaurant and a nice bar too. They used to have a deal where if to were going to Simuflite they would give you a "Gold Key" card. You could use that to get free breakfast and 20% off of meals at the hotel. When I stayed there I got a butt-load of free drink coupons too. Very nice staff and comfortable rooms. I highly recommend it!

Please understand there are two different Harvey's... the hotel, and the suites. I very much preferred the hotel. There was more going on, more people, better food, better deal on drinks, and the roof-top jacuzzi was at the hotel. They are across the street from each other, but worlds apart.

There are two Embassy Suites. One is attached to the Bass Pro Shop, the other is further west. Go with the one attached to the Bass Pro Shop, even if it costs you more.

Also, there is a Baymont Inn in Gravevine for those that are severely budget conscience.

Of course, INMHO, stick with Flight safety for the best training.

Please let us know how it goes.

Respectfully,

JayDub

JayDub,

Thanks for the clarification. I am excited about this course because it is the first "official" training from a training facility
FlightSafety and Simuflite....

Thanks again and I'll let you know how it goes.

Gosh, I remember my first course that wasn't "in-house". Boy, are you in for a pleasant surprise! Books that aren't Xeroxed 100 times! Good luck and have fun!

I highly recommend the Harvey as well!
Nice bar, restaurant, pool, rooms, weight room, hot tub, free Dallas paper in the morning, decent looking gals behind the desk ; )~
They'll even cart your a** to the Grapevine Mills Mall for free.

Last March, I got on Priceline.com the day before leaving for Simuflite, put in a price of $35 per night (2 nights for King Air recurrent), and it gave me the Hyatt Regency at DFW Airport. Beautiful hotel, right on Int'l Pkwy, and the hotel validates the toll for the pkwy.
