I got a disorderly conduct on my record and does anyone know if it will show up on a SIDA badge check?? I just got an offer to work for a big regional and I'm curious if it will show on the check. Thanks for the help!!

All I'll say is don't try and hide it. If you don't disclose the info, and it shows up, you'll sure as hell get canned.

Totally agree with IP076 on that one.........

JFYI though,

THe SIDA badge isn't where you will run into a problem. If they're gonna find out, it will happen in the company background check. When you get a SIDA badge, you will obtain that from the airport that you are domiciled at, and at least in the case of Denver, the company just emails a clean transcript of your FBI fingerprint results to the SIDA/TSA office at the airport operations office.

Then you watch a cheezy video and take a 10 question computerized test on the content of the video. You're in there with Janitors, Rampers, and Mcdonalds employees....... hehehe one pilot I was in there with actually flunked.... lol... After arguing his answers to the administrators in the office he was able to intimidate them into giving him a badge anyway.... great system..

Why are you discussing SIDA info on a public forum?

Before anyone flames me, I have one comment to make that I will never forget: 09/11/01.

P.S. That explains why you flunked the test because one of the questions on it concerns never discussing SIDA info w/ anyone.

Disregard the last since it wasn't you but whoever you were with.

Yea, don't discuss SIDA questions....just go apply at the TSA...they take former criminals and let them work for 6 months without doing a background check...and that is after the SIDA training.

BTW, that question had no SIDA divulgance....it is public knowledge that background checks are required for airline employees and those with access to the restricted areas of the airport. Do a search for yourself.....

You should have no problem with the Sida deal. There is a list of 10 disqualifying crimes (maybe more now) at the TSA or FAA website (can't remember where I saw it) and they are all felonies. I think Disorderly is a misdemeanor...and if it has been more than 10 years...you are ok either way.

Hmmm... What exactly did I divulge in my answer? That one could obtain a SIDA badge by simply applying to work @ mickey D's? Good luck with that one would be terrorists. It will only give access to: you guessed it, Mickey D's....

I really don't think SIDA badging is some magical mystery... It works and it's an okay system. That's it.

SIDA Badges

First of all, the fingerprints for a Criminal History Record Check are sent to the FBI database. There are 30 plus crimes that would disqualifiy you for a SIDA badge.

All of them are felonies. If I remember right, you can be a child molester and it will not show up as a disqualifying crime. That is why mist of these companies do a further check State by State as part of the 10 year background check which if ordered so can check any and all history of arrests.

For what ever it is worth I told my possible new employer about my past and time will tell the out come. Thanks for the help...

and they are all felonies
Actually, it does not specify such for a number of listed offenses, specifically Making Threats (can be misdemeanor or felony). This stuck out because ... well ... you guessed it ... I done dat once. :(

However it was WAY over ten years, so I refuse to give up hope.
