Read on DOT that Shuttle is leaving BED.
Wasn't the BED/TTN market a money maker for Shuttle?
Rumor has they are leaving 5 other markets and getting ready to retire some 340's. Have not heard any new markets coming
Sad
Yes, the Trenton crew base will close effective april 30. about 15 pilots will be displaced along with 8 or so F/A's. Also on the chopping block are 5 Trenton based mechanics and many ramp and gate persons. very sad as TTN - BED is a very profitable run for shuttle america. As stated by our CEO last week we will also be stopping service to Hagerstown, Williamsport, and Lynchburg.
Our Chief Pilot has been rumored to say that there will be "a series of positive announcements in the coming weeks." Yhat's all I know, you draw your own conclusions...... More to come i'm sure
Makes sense to me. The retired aircraft are scheduled for Oct 04, which leaves us currently with a full livery (we've only turned back 3 aircraft so far). Why have a full livery and cut routes unless to go to more profitable routes...or take over profitable routes that have been lost by airlines who have recently gone under...
Of course, I'm waiting for the rumored announcements if there are any. I've "heard" a lot of rumors about the month of March...which if rumors hold anything could be pretty interesting (good) for us.
