BM = Boston-Maine Airways?

That's good that TTN and BED won't lose airline service.

Hopefully ACA will select TTN as one of there cities as well.

not a knock against bma, i know very little, but a j32 and a saab are no comparison. and being usair express is a good advantage for folks for connections and such. but yeah youre right, at least they didnt lose all service.

Just a little perspective:

When I flew the Saabs between TTN and BED, given it was only for a short while, but during the x-mas season none the less, I never once saw more than 12-15 people on board... A Jestream would be much better suited for this run...

These are all business travelers (regulars) who have been flying the run since it was run on Shuttle America's "captain america" DHC-8s. Neither of these cities, besides the one RT TTN-PIT a day are connected at all through the USairways system.

The facilities in TTN and BED are borderline horrendous at best... To be honest, I was embarrassed to be in either terminal in uniform. Both TTN and BED Terminals remind me of miniature versions of Chicago Midway; Small and Cramped, dirty and smelling of the bizzare combination of hot dogs, urine, and mildew. Almost baseball stadiumish or subwaylike...

I think this could/would be the best move BMairways has made yet.. Not that that's a difficult feat considering their last move was to add a 4th option of Hyannis Nantucket and Boston area to the cape and islands....

Oh.... they're gonna LOVE those screamin garretts in BED... We got yelled at regularly about running #2 in feather in the Saab 10 minutes before pushback...

Just a little more perspective. I don't know BM's pricing plan, but when the beloved Dash 8's were flying and we offered the $99 fares, we had 2 Dash's each morning going from Bed-Ttn, Ttn-Bed. It wasn't uncommon to see the 6 and 7 oclock flights (or whatever time they were) both full leaving Ttn, likewise for Bed. Of course that was during the pre 9-11 economy but if price and reliability are there, I don't think the customer will be too critical of the airports. Going from the Dash to Saab to Jetstream might take a little getting used to though.

Downhill pattern.... Next Step - C402...

No really though.... I agree they could be full flights..... It needs to be marketed properly... In 99 I remember a billboard on I95 advertising shuttle america's 99 dollar fares from TTN....

Shuttle's pilots

What will happen with the pilot base at TTN & BED?
Will BM Air be looking for pilots based at TTN?
How is the best way to get interviewed?
Any info is helpful
Thanks

As far as the Shuttle pilots, the Bed base was closed in Nov 2002. Ttn will be liquidated some time soon. They will just be displaced to wherever until things are sorted out. As for BM, who knows. Search previous posts, although by the tone of most of them it may not be number one on the list of places to go but then that's for you to decide. I think they might have had a few adds on climbto350 also.
