Well here is the latest floating through the good ole CHQ rumor mill..........That SA is now going to get the jets and fly for both US Airways and United....and Republic will not happen....OR is Shuttle America going to be Republic.......

Anyone else hear anything like this....QQQ

The latest I heard last night was that CHQ will become Republik by the end of the year. Also, CHQ is moving its HQ to SDF and completely out of INDY. Believe what you want, but folks here have been saying many high up CHQ management people are looking for homes in Lou. You have to understand that whatever benefits BB the most is what will happen. Giving jets to SA doesn't really help out BB. BB needs the IPO in order to make his millions. Doing it with CHQ is the only way that is going to happen. No good invester is going to dump money in a start up airline like Repulic. I think that when it is all said and done, the Union and Management will agree to change our names to Republic, start the Jets for jobs, move HQ to SDF and get the IPO underway again. But who knows??? We all may get screwed anyway. Just my opinion.......

Looking for homes in Louisville?

Heck, OUR upper management was doing that two or three months ago. :D

But seriously, we heard this exact same rumor over here in the late spring, and I believe the new CHQ-Mgmt.-is-looking-for-homes-in-KY rumor about as much as I believed "our" rumor some months back.

There are people here who like to start rumors just to see how long it takes for their own tales to make it back to them. I'm guessing the same thing happens down in Indy. Eventually one of these rumors is bound to be true, but until something substantive happens, I will just assume everything I hear is fabricated.

LOOK AT THE THREAD! RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR. 99% of this site is RUMOR. Let's say you see WH at a real estate office. Maybe you can start a rumor that he is moving. Rumors are abound in this industry. All you can do is sit back and relax. I also hear ACA is going to go it alone?

Well that last part is NOT rumor, they actually announced they would be going it alone... It was even in the Wall Street Journal.

Of course, they could always back off of that plan, but it doesn't appear as though they will.

What it would mean to UAL Express is another question. One would assume that UAL would be looking for other carriers to pick up the slack if ACA is jumping ship... And I believe this, too, was in the WSJ article, that they're in negotiations for two more "undisclosed" partners. Looks like a good opportunity for a company that wants to expand into jets (or MORE jets).

I wonder who those companies are that are competing for the remaining UAL RJ's?

And for the record, TWAER, I know it was a rumor, I was just pointing out that we heard the SAME rumor months ago. I wasn't jumping on you or anything.

Oh, almost forgot...

The newest rumor that I heard on the line was similar to the one that started this thread... but doesn't necessarily say that SA is getting any jets, just that there is no way that Republic could be up and running before this time next year. Of course this directly contradicts the rumor on another thread, that they will be starting operations, or at least getting spooled up for operations, in mid-August of THIS year, i.e.- roughly two weeks from now.

What does that mean to SA and CHQ? Anyone's guess. I would presume that any and all USAirways RJ flying would stay over at CHQ, and if SA is ever going to get jets, it would have to be with another codeshare partner.

But you know what they say about presumptions, or opinions, or rumors. They're like our rear-ends, so to speak... Everyone's got one and they all stink.

Ole Bedford just loves Kentucky. He based 1/4 of our BAE crews in CVG. An outstation. Most of the trips start and end with deadheads. Nothing like having the Brian Bedford B scale. His theory was why pay 12 year pilots to be captains if the planes are based in the hubs if you can get really junior 5-7 year captains to commute from DTW and MSP to be based in an outstation. All if us at XJ feel for those at CHQ for having Wayne and Brian at the helm. Best of luck.

Cross your fingers boys and girls. All bets must be in before Sept 15th.

I heard one two days ago that SA put in a notice/petition to US Airways to cease turboprop operations within a specified period of time (I do not recall the details). The reason behind it being the operation is losing a lot of money.

Don't shoot me, I'm just passing along what I heard. No offense to anyone at SA intended.

In reference to the original question, it does make you wonder why they are hiring if they are on their last leg with their only code share. hmmmm...

Shuttle can always go it alone (ACA). Running 72's out of PIT.

I am on my annual pilgrimage to attend a NASCAR race which truth be told, is one of my passions in life. Yes, I am one of those guys that would trade almost everything except for my family to be in professional racing.

Our battle for survival is far from over. It is time for us to take bold, definitive, and focused action to restructure the company with its major stakeholders. We have put Airways on notice that we must restructure our agreement or terminate the relationship. Terminating the relationship may spell the end of Shuttle’s existence. I cannot promise we will succeed with the restructuring with Airways or the other major stakeholders. I can promise you we will continue to work hard in this effort.

Have fun at the races Scott. The company is in a "fight" for it's existence and you're off playing around at NASCAR races. I guess it doesn't take too much effort to have some minion create a memo that threatens employee groups.
