I have a lead about a possible position. There has been some coversation between the Chief Pilot and some friends of mine regarding the position.

I have sent them a resume and cover letter direct to their office weeks ago. I overheard a conversation between my friends and the Chief Pilot last week regarding his position and if was going to contact me. The Chief Pilot said that he was going to call me this week.

I have not recieved a call, and I'm wondering if it is a good idea to stop by his office. Is this a bad idea?

maybe just give them a quick call or have your friends mention something to him. Good to show that you want it bad to be a pest

Well what would it hurt, Other than the chances of the guy that is going to show up when you don't and that happens to be when they hire somebody....
If you are qualified with good recomondations and a good attitude, it never hurts to let the guys who matter to get to know your face and personality and be on the front of there mind when they decide to make that call...

I was told that the person in charge would call this week. I think I will get all my stuff together and wait out the week. Give it the weekend and stop by next week.

Remember that the chief pilot may very well be on a trip and not taking care of office business while he's gone. Most CP's that I know look forward to a chance to excercise the latter part of their title and get a break from the prior.

I'd wait out the week and give them a chance. Nobody likes a pest.

Good luck!
