I'm trying to help out a friend who has a client that is selling their turbo-prop and will be looking for a small jet. They will be without an aircraft for a (hopefully short) period of time. It seams to me that chartering would be the most effective solution. They also want to know about aircraft leasing and using their current pilot and hanger. Any recommended companies that arrange aircraft leases for their catagory - pilot experience is mostly King Airs. What is typically the shortest lease term available on aircraft like that? What about Jet Card programs? Using charter brokers?

there are some short term leases out there. look at controller.com many ads are sale or lease.

my own opinion, look at the numbers of hours flown. unless you're flying more than 30 a month, i'd charter.

the insurance, training, fuel maint, engine reserves and the language of the lease could end up bending your owner over.

charter keeps your options open.

charter vs lease

Charter the same plane that they are buying to make sure that it fits their mission. If they decide that they need more or less plane now is the time to find out.
