And neither does the 737, or the 747, or the 777.
Part of the deal was already discussed by Rottweiler, but I have a point to add. Because the whole stabilizer is trimmed on these larger aircraft (instead of a servo-tab tribbing the actual elevator), these surfaces have a greater AOA range to deal with as well, and therefore can take the change in airflow that ice on the leading edge causes in a much less chaotic manner.
Did wind-tunnel tests on this sort of crap in college...most of my professors said the same thing.
