Do not rent the car ..

Stay at the Hilton Union Sqaure or Warf if you can.

Call the FBO and see if they can set you up. My last trip there they got us some hotel that was less than $180 (I forget the name).

Sometime, however, you cannot even get a hotel near SFO for less than $180.

The Courtyard Marriott downtown on 2nd Street is also very nice. It is a few blocks from Union Square and probably cheaper than the Hilton. Plan on $20 a day for parking if you bring a rental car to any of the hotels downtown.

Personally I would avoid staying near the Wharf area. Most of the hotels down there seem to be pretty well trashed. You can easily take the cable car from downtown to the Wharf. All of the touristy crap down there gets old after about a day though.

Thanks for the replys. Staying at the Hyatt near the airport. Good rate thruough Signature...around $160/night. Downtown is impossible due to the Oracle convention.
