Job Description
Tower Air Traffic Control Specialists direct the movement of aircraft within the Delta Airspace surrounding the airport and control aircraft, personnel and equipment within designated movement areas on the airport. They act as Limited Aviation Weather Observers (LAWRS). They utilize various automated air traffic control systems and radar in the course of their work. They utilize radios and landlines to communicate with pilots, ground personnel and other air traffic controllers. They monitor and train developmental air traffic control specialists.

Main Tasks
-Direct aircraft, personnel and equipment movements through the use of control instructions.
-Observe and report weather information in real time.
-Receive, analyze and act on detailed information quickly.
-Inspect various communications and information equipment for proper operation and report outages as required.
-Report aircraft incidents and accidents and complete associated paperwork.
-Maintain operational logs and reports.
-Train developmental air traffic controllers.

Qualifications
Air Traffic Controllers must be calm, alert, and able to think on their feet. They must be able to multi-task and handle pressure, especially in times of emergency. They must be organized and have basic computer skills. They must have a strong sense of responsibility, be meticulous and have good teamwork skills. They must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and spoken English. Air Traffic Controllers must be able to pass an FAA Class II Medical Exam. Applicants must pass Pre-employment drug screening and government background investigation.

Education: High School / G.E.D
Experience: Mid Career (2 - 15 years)
Required Licenses / Certificates: CTO, Class II Medical Certificate
