I am separating on Tuesday the 14th after 15 years. A month ago I checked out my flight records and since I'm on a staff job, no one has on their final out checklist to go by flight records.

My questions is:

1) When you get out, does Flight Records give you a special form, and/or your flight records, or what?

2) Should I keep my paws on these flight records and not take them back?

3) What "form" are the airlines looking for that has military flight time? I'm wondering by not "checking out" with Flight Records if I'm preventing myself from getting an important form?

Thanks!

You should *get* your flight records when you outprocess thru flight records, so I don't think you're gaining anything by avoiding them. You probably aren't missing any vital form if you haven't flown since the last time you ourprocessed a base (i.e. the last summary page in the records will have all your times on it), but it can't hurt to ask. They can print you up whatever summary forms on the spot.

I'd stop by to "ask a question" and see what they'll require; if you're afraid they'll ask for the records back to keep (they shouldn't), "leave them at home" that day. They may well be able to have you sign their paperwork for outprocessing, plus print you whatever summary forms they can, right there on the spot.
