Anyone know of any reliable and fairly inexpensive companys that will perform a background check on yourself?
Like to know whats out there on me before I hit the job market. Thanks

What, Me worried?
Sorry, what I meant to say was a friend of mine wants to do a background check on himself...yeah thats it.

If you are free of neck tatoos, you're probably cool.

Just make sure you don't let the interviewee see you from the back. The "party in the back" side of a mullet is a stark contrast to the preferred "business in the front".

mazbaird,

I have a good friend who just went thru the same thing. He had a few felonies(I think 4 of them-spent some time in "the big house"..) about 11 years ago. He has enough hours to apply for the airlines now. He had an attorney "sponge" his prior records, but was worried about what a backround check would reveal(IE- what to put on the application about felonies).

There are a couple of ways to go abut the backround check:

I called the local FBI number in the phone book. Said I wanted to get a backround check on myself, they gave me the national number to call. The national office gave me the address and all the info I needed to get a check. you'll need a fingerprint card-you can go to a local police station and get one for about $5. send that, a notorized request, and something like $20(money order), and a few weeks yo will have the official results from the FBI.

Also you can go to a gun store, and say you are interested in a handgun-tell them you can't buy it today-but have them run a check to make sure everythings cool. The results take about 10 min. if you fail they won't tell you why-but you can then request a reason from the state.

Another friend, who owns a used car dealership, did a backround check? For some reason they can do them.

Or, you can try the private pay sites, but I don't know anything about how they work...

B

Note: None of the above checks showed his priors, so it is possible to erase prior felonies...;)

Mines nothing that bad, just a sealed misdemeanor which Im hoping is properly sealed since Ive been asnwering "No" on the job applications.

Which according to Florida law 943.058 Im lawfully able to deny or fail to acknowledge the arrests covered by the sealed record. Except when applying for law enforcement or working with children.

Would'nt be the first time the state of Florida messed up someones records.

Is it possible to go to the local international airport and ask the badging people if you can get a 10 year background check and pay for it yourself without getting a aoa badge? It only takes 24 hours and i figured that will be the easier route.

What are the chances of getting a job with a felony on my record? I have one, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of misdemenor domestic violence. Basicly my ex and I got in a fight, and the law charged me. I took the plea, being stupid. When she left me, she turned me in to the ATF. I'm hoping that she didn't screw up my flying life too bad......Anyone?

I hold a SIDA badge currently.

How many pilots hold a SIDA badge (135 ops)? I don't see many that come through...

Sida badge

My 10 years will be over next month and i am kind of excited. Does the record still show up even though its been over 10 years. How do i check if i can pass the test without doing all the SIDA training?
