Does any one out there have any experience getting a second interview with a company after being turned down? I have been turned down by two majors. Given how few desirable jobs are out there, I wonder how often people get second interviews and if things turned out better the second time?

Interviewed and turned down twice at Delta and the first time at Alaska.
6 months later Alaska and American called about the same time with job offers. Here I sit at Alaska which was my first choice to begin with.

Best of luck..................

Denied at AirTran about a year and a half ago, then had a second interview 9 months later which worked out. Don't give up - best of luck....

The situation sounds hopeful.

Did any of you guys do anything special (additional references, job fair appearances maybe) that you think helped earn the second chance?

01mm I had no inside help or any job fairs for my second interview with American. I waited for the 6 months to past and reapplied. I also have a friend who did not make it through JetBlue on his first try, and was hired on his second attempt. Don't give up.. keep the faith and keep adding to your experience. It will only make more marketable for the second round.

Merry Christmas and safe flying...
