Does anyone have any info on the Seattle based company called Aero Flight? All the basics are what I am looking for... hiring? pay? etc... I know that they have crew bases throughout the NW, but that is about all I know. Thanks for your help.:D

Knew a guy 'bout a year ago from there...

-$25/day
-2 to 4 hrs per day/night
-12+ hr duty day w/layover in places like GEG, EAT, YKM.
-mostly Senecas, 1/2 340's and a BE99
-Small mom-n-pop operation started by used car sales type

Also, know a couple of guys that went through 'Ice-Pac' (AirPac)

-More respectable operation if there is such a thing and better schedule/pay.

If you can get on at Ameriflight - BFI (need turbine and/or mass TOT Time) best way to go
-Keep away from BUR/OAK
-PHX if you don't mind a Lance for awhile preferable NOV through APR

Sorry, just like a Democrat Senator, you asked about something and I completely avoided the subject...It is nasty and I don't want to face the inevitable.

regards

pay

I'd concur with 100 and a half except that the pay was $100 a day about five years ago. Hard to believe it would have dropped to $25 a day. Of course, that Mike dude is pretty shady so maybe he thinks he's doing guys a favor by just not charging them to work there.

I've known several Aeroflight guys that moved on to Horizon, Skywest, and Mesa....but that was five years ago.

The owner is rather bizzare dude who, as rumor has it, would take your flight if you refused it for maintenance or weather. I can personally attest that he wears sunglasses indoors....not sure what that's all about but it's kinda weird. He gave me credit on buying stuff at his business without knowing me, which was kinda nice.

They are a bottom feeder compared to Amflight....but if you need a multi job and can get on there then I'd say go for it but don't hesitate to walk away from a serious maintenance issue. As with Airpac....and Amflight in some cases....you'll be expected to fly light twins through the cascade ice machine all winter long. Many have done it an survived......glad it wasn't me.

thanks for the help fella's... I would never sell myself out to fly for $25/day! Holy crap! I would rather eat glass. HAHA. Sounds pretty shady to me though.

Gee you seem very smart, 700 billion in debt, the war is over and Dick flying his 757 to JAC every week on OUR dollar, ETC, ETC, ETC... And this time the Republications are in charge so you can't blame the demos for the debt. But I'm sure you open minded, self-serving, intelligent pilots will still do just that!

@$$munch, get a life.... that wasn't the point of this thread.

NOT aeroflight....

I think you guys got it confused with another freight gig at Boeing field (I won't say any name). Aeroflight flies 402's, and no senecas that I know of. I dropped off a resume there 3-4 weeks ago and it seemed to be a very descent place; in fact it's a full service FBO with a flight school (that will end January 1st though).

There is however another 135 company at Boeing field that flies a BE99 and senecas that was talked about on a previous thread, and pays minimum wage. Look at the next page or the one after; the thread was called "jobs in the NW"

Aeroflight is a good company, solid 135 freight and charter- as long as you have a rough idea of what flying freight is about, you know what you are getting into. I flew freight there for a couple of years. Here is the skinny:

-Mostly 402's with a couple of Chieftans and Senecas
-Long duty days, but (at that time) no night schedules
-$80-100/day with 6-8 hours in the air
-anywhere from 2-8 legs a day

Maint was OK...The owner is ok as well, just let him run his business and don't get in the way. If you do decline a flight- he or the chief pilot will take the run....but you will be going too. This helps people who have often come from instruction backgrounds to learn a little more about whatever the situation might be.

As long as you know what you are getting into, this is a great place to build time. Lots-0-weather though, and some interesting flying in the mountains....but you will gain immesurable experience. Now you know.....
