One of the Great Ones. RIP.

He was everything Chuckbo Yeager imagines himself to be. Was it Scott flying when the ultra performance ship departed flight and brought it back to earth- on film from the cockpit? How many Gs did he experience when the X15 decided to kinda BLOW UP during an engine run? My prune-sized brain keeps telling me north of 40 gee acceleration, but I bet I'm wrong.

EIGHTY FOUR YEARS. What a freakin' legend he is. I'll probably cash my chips crapping through a tube in Trembling Hills Retirement home, while he died flying a 210.

Unbelievable. Adios, Scott.

Another sad flight west. Too bad the true path finders are going away with each day and few of us take the time to appreciate it. My good friend was B-29 Engineer wounded in action over Kure in '45. Everytime I see him I take the time to listen to his stories even if I've heard them before. Fair winds Scott Crossfield!

Its amazing to me how the great ones go out. I am remembering Gary Powers. How he was surviving being shot down at 70,000ft over russia in the U2. The the life and death trial in Rusia. He arrives home as an american hero only to die in a helicopter crash doing traffic reports 10 years later.

I can say this, they will always be heros to me, and at least they made the final flight west doing what they loved the most.

"He'll being going after Crossfield soon won't he? No sir, he'll be going after that demon that lives out in the the thin air"....Via con Dios amigo...
