Scholarship for flight training
The LeRoy W. Homer, Jr. Foundation is offering three scholarships to young people (age 16 to 23) who wish to obtain Private Pilot certification.

LeRoy was the First Officer on United Flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. In his memory, his family and friends formed the Foundation to encourage young people to pursue careers in aviation. This year's deadline to apply is February 28, 2005.

If anyone is interested in applying for a scholarship, go to the Foundation website at www.leroywhomerjr.org -- the application form is on the website. Information on how to make a donation to the Foundation can also be found on the website.

I think this is a fine way to remember a fine person. Good luck to all who apply for a scholarship.
