This not an interview question but it is a part 91 corporate ops question.

A buddy flying Lear 45s for a company with between 16 and 20 pilots has been given the opportunity to come up with a new pilot dept crew scheduling process. Right now it's an on-call thing and they want to go to a 4 on/3 off plan.

Any of you guys do something like that?

How does it work? What are the pitfalls? What are the perks? etc. looking for ideas...

Would your buddy work in PIT by any chance?

Nope, not even close.

We went to a set schedule of 7 On, 3 Off then 8 ON, 3 Off about 16 months ago and its worked out pretty well. For the most part they leave us alone on our off days. I suppose the 8 days could be a long stretch, but in over a year I've only worked 8 straight days once, and it went to a 9th day and they gave me a full day of overtime for it. Plus, I was in Cabo for the second half of the rotation...
