I also don't know EFI?

But another question re: schedules. I was interested in the big corporate flight departments, the Fortune 500 type, and others in general of their use of airplanes for executives and their families personsal trips and vacations. Is it usually just for business or do they schedule use for the top dogs vacations etc. jumping all over the country for the holidays and New Year's. I'm just curious how it works w/ the bigger co.'s. We are a small company w/ a main owner and we fly 90% for corporate/business use but then also the owner on personal trips.

I work for a Fortune 100 Flight Department and we are 99.5% business trips, on a very rare occasion we might do a personal trip for the CEO or Pres (that is the only 2)... And those are very few and far between...

I too work pretty high up on the Fortune __ list..

We do 99% business trips also. A select few have access for personal trips. At large companies these few pay for these flights. I have no idea how much, but they do pay. The planes are not owned by the Chiefs or the Chairmen. Many of our personal trips allow for pilots wifes to go also...

Schedules...well its not the airlines! But we can look a month or two ahead and see a schedule and it is usually pretty firm (we are lucky). Some also have "hard" days off per month and some start at 4 weeks vacation/yr.

So...one must be flexible - its the name of the game - but I for one can say I have never missed an event I HAD to be at for personal reasons...but I think I am lucky.

I have worked owner/management gigs with 2-3 pilots per plane and an owner who had vacation homes all over and it was a nightmare. Yeah, its a real "vacation" to sit in Aspen or Palm Beach every other weekend....not.

It is NIGHT and DAY comparing charter/owner flying to big corporation flying.

hope that helps....??

nobody will know how much that sucks until they have done it, and when you think you've seen it all, it gets worse. i'd rather be in iraq.

Falcon Capt., Gulfstream 200:

Thanks for your replies. I figured it would be like that for the big corporations, all business-good deal from what you've posted. Thanks again.

I would assume by your post that you are reffering to Executive Jet International concerning their duty schedule. I am sure there are several of their pilots on the board and they will answer your questions,
