Any of you guys use a Sat phone when working in an OCONUS position? If so, who did you use for service and what manufacturer of phone did you have? If you have any other details, please include them.

No offense but I am not releasing that info to you. Who are you? Do some research online for info.

Guys, chill.

I meant for personal use to communicate with family, etc.

I apologize. I meant to direct this to the contract mil guys. This doesn't have to do with any GI issued equipment or equipment for use only by the US Government.

Thuraya for Africa, The Middle East, and Central Asia. Good small, tough, phones, but I was not paying the bill. Check their site.

It is not secure like other more costly ones out there, but it is the favorite of AQ, and sometimes they get a missle inbound after using theirs.

I second that, we use the Thuraya. Never had to place a call on it, so I cant comment on the service.
