Has anyone used Airport Aviation Services in TJSJ? Are there any others recommended.

Also, any hints or tips for flying into or out of TJSJ?

Thanks

Yeah, it's pi$$ poor. Don't expect any hangars. And don't expect good service. Our FBO took half a day to fuel our airplane. Apparently they fuel the airlines first and get to you when they have a chance. As far as flying in there...nothing special that I can remember (it was VFR that day). Enjoy the food and clear water. But don't leave anything in your car. Our hubcaps got stolen the first night on our rental car. Oh yeah, get a handler. It makes things much smoother. And get a limo for your pax, the cabs are unreliable. If you get the handler, he/she will set everything up for you. Have fun!

I called the FBO and they said no problem with handling us, but would you recommend getting a different handler. Reason this is important is that we are going to be leaving at 0500, which is 2 hours before the FBO opens.

If you're just pre-clearing or stopping for gas, I would recommend Borinquen TJBQ. It's much less hectic, the people at the FBO are friendly and the gas is cheaper.

Good idea. We used Universal and they always do a good job. If the FBO is reccomending it you definately need one.
