I have a couple of the salary surveys but I can't really decide what the salary should be.

The position would be an SIC position on a Challenger 300 based in Colorado.

Anyone know what the going rate should be?

Do you have more info? Part 91/135? Full time? How many days on the road? International flying? On call? Co-captain or strictly SIC? What type of company/passengers? How big is the company in terms of employees and airplanes? Etc...

Off hand I would say somewhere in the 55-85 range, depending on your experience and the size of the company.

As a general rule:
The pay increases with:
Aircraft size
Experience
Company size
-# pilots
-revenue
part 91 vs pt 135
International flying
As you get closer to either coast.

Just curious, is that the job flying with the recently retired UAL SCAB?

If so I would not expect too much.

If not, I would expect around $75K year with a type rating and expect an increase to at least 85K in 12 months.

You might want to find the guy who recently QUIT that job and talk to him!!!!!!!!!
From what I've heard, (all second hand info, but from two reliable sources) this is one to stay away from.
Last guy was said to be making around $50k, the crew was required to SHARE a hotel room on the road and meal expenses were something like $10, $12, and $20. If you skipped breakfast and/or lunch you couldn't add those dollars to your dinner for a decent meal.
Ask around at the FBO in APA and you'll here more interesting stories like picking up catering at 7-11 or getting day old donuts because they're cheaper. I'm sure those last two descriptions were just exagerations but it gives you an idea of how the plane is being run. Hard to believe that a guy who is in the top 100 BILLIONAIRES of the world can't afford (more likely chooses not) to pay and treat his crew professionally.
But hey this is just what I've heard so it could all be BS.
