991, that was one of the good ones.

Oh man, I think I'm gonna puke! :(

APU still there...

Surprisingly, they left the apu in. It is proving to be a problem though, not with cooling but with weight limits. I hear it's hard to carry a JS'er up front on the long legs. Now admittedly, I know next to zero about the dash, but did hear a few guys grumbling about it in the crewroom the other day.

To those of you with D8 experience: if this sounds totally wrong, then the error lies only in my eavesdropping skills.

night gents...

we never had a weight problem caused by the apu, but then all of our birds have em....
and we hardly ever had a weight problem till the fancy new 'fat america' weights and loading system came out

and i would think a js would help balance the apu's weight out cg wise

I'll bet they're lovin being able to run the packs at the gate in phx, to damed hot out there, i'll find out first hand in a couple weeks, but thankfully, only for a short visit.

The 200's hardly ever had weight problems, even with the new weights. the 100's and 300's were a different story. Still had nothing to do with the APU. 991HA was one of the good ones.

When Johnny O was at CALEX he removed all the tray tables from the 120s to "save weight."

I'm sure the APU's will be removed eventually........:D

In this case, moaning about Mesa is misguided. You can't blame the collapse of US Airways on Mesa, and it's not as if Mesa Dash 8s replaced US Airways Express Dash 8s.

Mesa got more Dash 8s because United asked them to fly in Denver. The US Airways Express Dash 8s were used in the Northeast. US Airways rejected CIT-owned Dash 8s, and CIT then put them to work at Mesa. Nothing more, nothing less.
