I have an upcoming interview with Shuttle America.

The following are questions I have either for current or recent
Shuttle America pilots or others who are "in the know".

Even if you cannot answer all of them, any partial info. will be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering:

1) Is PIT the ONLY domicile, or are there others?

2) What does the upgrade time look like at this point in time?

3) What are the minimum days off per month?

4) Do they force you to retire your seniority number from
the airline from which you are furloughed (if applicable) or
is this negotiable?

5) What is the duration and dollar amount of their training
contract?

6) Do they plan on getting any RJs and, if so, approximately
what is their timetable?

7) I have heard that the company wants to impose pay and other
concessions on the pilot group.
Is this true and what are the details on this issue?
Is there a webpage or other pilot forum on the Net with
any info.?

8) In your opinion, what is your outlook on the company's future,
both short- and longterm?

Thanks a bunch.

1) Is PIT the ONLY domicile, or are there others?

PIT, FWA, and TTN (Trenton, NJ).

2) What does the upgrade time look like at this point in time?

Can't really say. There are FO's that have been here for nearly two years who are upgrading now, so... Draw your own conclusions.

3) What are the minimum days off per month?

12 for lineholders, 10 for reserve.

4) Do they force you to retire your seniority number from
the airline from which you are furloughed (if applicable) or
is this negotiable?

Yes, and no it's not negotiable. What your present (former?) company does with your resignation letter is up to them. I've heard that most companies take a resignation letter from a furloughed pilot and throw it in the trash, but you might want to ask your CP if that is the case where you work.

5) What is the duration and dollar amount of their training
contract?

Can't say for certain, but I seem to recall that it's about $20k. The contract is technically for two years, but it's prorated so that you're free and clear after one year (so if you leave at 11mos you still owe roughly 58% of the total, if I have it right)

6) Do they plan on getting any RJs and, if so, approximately
what is their timetable?

No idea. If you know, please, let us know as well.

7) I have heard that the company wants to impose pay and other
concessions on the pilot group.
Is this true and what are the details on this issue?
Is there a webpage or other pilot forum on the Net with
any info.?

We have a pending vote on pay concessions that will be counted on Sep. 2nd. I will not speculate on the liklihood of those concessions being accepted, at least not publicly. The short version is 10% pay cuts on Caps and 5% for FO's for 18mos. There is more to it than that, but again, that's all I will say in public.

8) In your opinion, what is your outlook on the company's future,
both short- and longterm?

See answer to #6.
