I can't speak of QOL/pay for pilots as I was in ops, but as far as bases...

727-200 in JAX
737-200 in ACY
737-300 was in STL
737-400/800 in DFW
757 in RFD

Seasonal (Nov-Apr) bases in MSP, DTW, MKE, and sometimes ORD.

I talked to HR last summer. Mins are ATP and 737 type preferred.

How junior is RFD?

I use to work the line in RFD handling the 757's.....I know one captain that left for Virgin America. Internal recs are highly looked at. I wouldnt recommend them but it works for some people. You travel the world so the international experiance would be great.

I know about the 757's if you have any questions i might be able to answer them. Pm me if you want i know a lot of people there.

I'll answer, at least for the 757 side of things. QOL is not very good. You are gone a lot, your base and or contract will change very frequently, and there are a lot of lifers there who will not go anywhere until they shut the doors, so movement is minimal. The contract is a joke, and the union has been in negotiations for quite a while without making any significant progress. Pay is crap, and everytime you switch seats, contract, or equiptment you return to first year pay. I am not quite sure about the 737 or MD80, but that's my take on the 757. My advice is not to go there unless you don't have any other options.

Someone sent me a pm the other day and i deleted it by mistake. You can pm be back if you want. However if your interested in the 757 see the above post...that is exactly how it is. Being since you have retired from Delta you should be a shoe in since most of there current (no pilot) employees seem to be delta retires. However if you left Delta early because of the BS or whatever you will not be better off with Ryan by any means...Never know, just my opinion.

Does Ryan (or did they previously) have a base in MIA ? Also, does anyone know if they type new hires in the B757(or others), or just at upgrade time? Thanks, AV8N4Fun

They still have MIA which at the moment is the senior base.
While in initial training they will give you the option to go for the type or not.

Right now there is zero movement but quite a few pilots have left recently so things could change quickly.
