We did our training in house at the 91/135 company I work for and it was marginal, reviewed all of the basic points and I did my own research to make sure what they were telling me made sense.

I was told that we had to fill out an altimeter data log form for each flight into RVSM airspace, which I have been doing, as told. Was talking to some guys at the FBO who fly a Citation X, and they never heard of this. I personally hate filling it out because it includes way too much info, fuel burns, winds, etc.

Basically I am a lazy pilot and if this isn't required, I would rather not do it.

I also do not do this. What does your RVSM manual and or LOA say about this?
Some require black marks on the side of the aircraft in the area of the pitot tubes, but our approval did not. Check your RVSM manual and RVSM maintenance manual and comply with that.

The requirement is that you check all altimeters prior to flight into RVSM airspace. Although its not in our RVSM manual, we require all crews to record the findings on our flight logs (we added a section for recording the information). Our philopshy is that if you are required to complte the check, you better record it and CYA if something happens and the FAA comes looking. This is for a 135 operations. Not sure if you're talking about 91 or 135.
