The rumor is true. Gulfstream International has been bought by a new company. Part of the restructuring has been the elimination of the academy. The academy has always been a disaster. They are now focusing on just growing the airline. Their goal is to fly larger airplanes.

Im no lover of Gulfstream. Ill be happy to see them go. Just curious though, anyone have any specifics of WHY?

How can it be a bad business model to collect money from the customers AND employees? How's that not work from a business standpoint.

Even if it did cost slightly more to train an applicant than the tuition received, wouldnt that be made up ten fold by then having a pilot you pay only $8 an hour?

Just doesn't seem to make sense.

I'll end with an obligatory "good riddance".

Oh no! How else will a guy like me get into the airline business?
Gheyjhetz,
PM CX880, he will give you all the deets on knee pads and anal lube.

Oh please. CRJ9s for 50 seat wages. talk about anal lube.
I am not sure where you are getting your info, but your Hulas post sodomizing pillow talk is incorrect. SKYW pilots who fly the 900 receive a Block Hour Override. While much less than optimal for us, your deal where you have to rim Hulas's goats between trips is quite a bit worse.

Hulas is Indian. It's a cow, not a goat.
I know I was being obtuse, of course dot vs feather! Still a POS. Hulas being a firm believer in the caste system, would not let a pilot near one of his sacred cows to pollute their starfishes with their diseased/unclean pilot lips, goats on the other hand must have clean starfishes prior to slaughter, hence CX880s ability to polish a goat starfish like no one else.

I guess the pilots ratified a new contract. Does anyone have any details? This article makes it look concessionary.
