Just curious if anyone knows anything about Ross Aviation in ABQ?

They have some sort of contract ( and have had for a while ) with the DOE flying DC9's to places that require a top secret clearance for the crews. Maybe they do other stuff. I'd like to know a bit more myself, but gave up trying when I couldn't Google anything meaningful. Saw some job postings for DC9 crews a year ago for an unnamed company in the western US because they were getting another DC9-30 ( likely Ross ), and requiring a top secret clearance. The jobs never materialized and the job websites couldn't, and still can't, explain what happened.

Kinda interesting...no ?

Wonder if they take folks in and out of area 51. They said a Q clearance was required. Is that a top secret still or just secret? I'm not familiar with the civilian side of things.

Thanks for the info!

It was hard to know what to make of the job postings from June and September of 2004. Both posts stated that a "top secret clearance" would be required. From what I understand, this is a rather lengthy process. You'd think that they'd take the lead time into account when palnning for additional crews...as in, they'd better hire people NOW if they need them 6/9 months from now.

But, then the whole thing was dropped. I contacted the job websites for info but they never responded to my questions. Such is life when dealing with the government...I guess.
