However...some cargo companies specialize in what is known as "Self Loading Cargo". Many of these companies, such as American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Airways, and Northwest Airlines have websites where you can arrange passage.
They will require that you have your passport, and will ask that you part with between $200 and $800 worth of your "stuff". Shouldn't be too tough considering how much capital you have to work with.
Actually, you can jumpseat on widebody freighters overseas as long as they have seats outside the cockpit and you have jumpseat privilges, usually if you work for another cargo company. This new rule came into effect around October this year due to terrorist threats regarding freighters and the kitty hawk incident with the dude who shipped himself to his fathers (although he probably spent more money using kitty hawk rather than buying an airline ticket).
good luck waspe and good luck graduating high school - maybe you should get an english tutor.
So if I am just a normal guy, that is trying to do some business that invovles freight and shipping and stuff over seas, I MIGHT be able to sit in the jump seat? Or is that just a no? I was hoping you guys could hook me up with clearence or whatever if I decided to do that. I am very cheap.
Any one of us would be glad to hook you up with a clearance why on earth didn't you ask right out Silly. Also, I'm not using the Aston Vanquish this weekend so feel free to borrow it, just return it on fool....I mean full
Waspe, just go the UPS cargo area and ask, I'm sure they'll let you walk right on without a TSA 10 year background check. I'm sure you haven't even been working for 10 years since you are 16 so there should be no problem.
But seriously, could I contact the TSA, and get clearance after a background check and any other check they do? Or no, because it is strickly for Airlines and air freight companies only?
Waspe, give it a try. Contact TSA and tell them you want to board a Cargo widebody heading from BOS to Europe, full of fuel, and that you were never fingerprinted and checked by the FBI. Also tell them your English is about as good as a fellow 16 year old from Saudia Arabia. Tell them you are very interested in Aviation and they might give you the clearance you're looking for. Make sure you make this call from your home and not a payphone. They'll probably want to take a mugshot for your file and ID, so make sure you are looking your best. Good luck!
