what happened to the thread that Riddle Ace posteded. I was enjoying everyones flame throwers.

Yea, I was wondering the same thing. I was about to post a response to his assertion that there was no argument possible to his statement that ERAU was at the very top of aviation schools, and that UND was also good, but not up to challenge ERAU.

From 1990 thru 1994, my son was an aviation major at UND, and as I recall, Both UND and ERAU had a "flying team", along with many other schools. There were anual "fly offs" with impartial judges grading the competitors. UND and ERAU invariably, wound up in the finals against each other. My recollection of those compentative "fly-offs" was that as of 1993, UND had beaten ERAU for 9 consecutive years in the finals. I don't know if that dynasty has changed since 1993, but truly a trend was established back then, of "air superiority" in favor of UND. Are you still so certain that ERAU can not be challenged?

By the way, my son is currently a captain on the CL-65 at Comair, and has been employed as a pilot there since January, 1997. He was so stupid, he had to fly the Brasilia for a year before he could get to jets. Must have been his drawback that he had to learn his flying up in those "mild" winters of North Dakota, instead of that brutal Florida and Arizona climate.

ERAU flight team v. UND flight team

Yeah, in the late '80s-early '90s the UND flight team trumped our intrepid group of aces. Something like three of whom were my students at one point or another. One believed that he was a better pilot than Yeager. He went on to some commuter. Another was a very nice young lady who struggled with instruments and for whom I did her Commercial multi add-on. She became a CFI and earned her ATP. I don't know if she is still flying, but, I believe that she became a dispatcher.

The third was a gentleman who was really an excellent pilot and a fun guy, and was legitimate flight team talent. So much so that he won the NIFA instrument competition one year. I was his instructor during that time, but I cannot take any credit at all for his performance. He was already sharp on the gauges when I got him. Apparently, though, I didn't instruct him well enough. He got on with Mesa, but, sadly, was relegated to the turboprop 1900s. I heard that he upgraded to sorry-ass 1900 Captain in less than a year. Although he won the NIFA instrument competition, he apparently didn't have the right stuff to bypass turboprops for the RJ. I guess that he was "stupid," too.

Get a life people. I attended riddle, got my B.S. from there and let me tell you, its just another flying school. Its bigger then UND no question. People know of riddle quite a bit more but flight team crap? are you serious? We used to make fun of the flight team at our school so bad. Flying is flying. Take the checkride, FAA certifies you, your good to go. all the flight team is is a bunch of "Dorks" in most cases, i know by looking at a picture of our flight team. Anyways, gee...lets get out a C172 and play top gun, im a hot shot pilot...give me a break. And as for UND. Im sure they are a fine school. I went to their summer aerospace camp a while back, but i fly into KGFK once a month and the pilots there arent better than riddles by anymeans. Riddles crew taxi out and take off and come back in one piece...so does UND's. Don't justify a universty by its flight team....I had a job flying C90's my sophmore year at riddle...you didn't see me on the flight team. You saw those C150 pilots who thought they were iceman or mavrick

First of all the flight team is for a bunch of fags. So I could care less about how UND does in some gay flight team competition. And while all of you at UND are out flying in that winter weather, we are hookin' up with hot chicks on the beach in Daytona. Once again, Embry-Riddle helped to qualify me for a direct entry job into jets. Embry-Riddle is far superior to any other aviation school out there. Live with it!
Do you even know what UND stands for? Or where it is?

Do you know exactly what CRJ or ERJ stands for? Bet you don't.

You know just enough to write your "posts" but not enough to fool us . . . . FLAMEBAIT.

The school you go to is only as good as how you make it.
No one school will get you an airline job it's, what you put into it and ultimately get out of it.
Not every captain from AA went to Riddle, or UND or a certain school. You have pilots from every walk of life at most majors, regionals, and corporate outfits: military, big schools, small schools and schools without an aviation program.

You can go to any school, anywhere and become whatever you aspire to be as long as YOU make the effort.

for example. if you went to a big name aviation school and get a
DUI the week after you graduate I guarantee your school name will not absolve you from your DUI.

My thoughts on this matter

Riddle Ace-
I suspect that you are a figment, created to get people pissed at the Riddle grads everywhere. If you are for real (in your own very limited way), then you need to let go of the high school days, the college days, and get on with today.

This is for illini pilot...(only because one of my best friends in aviation is a Fightin illini alum)

Unfortunately there's a saying in aviation F**K up move up. There's a guy at our company a real tool in the harshest sense of the word, with a DUI and a "wonderful Personality" to boot. (sarcasm). This guy is in the pool at FedEx now. Someone pass the Cuervo. I'm trying to get on at UPS.

Rook
600' AGL Autopilot on.
'WHEW!'

ERAU Flight Team (Prescott)

I'm not going to get into which school is better. Any school is good or bad. It's all in what you choose to get out of it. If you go to riddle, und, western michigan, southern illinois, etc., and you don't put anything into it, you won't get anything out of it. Thus, you will have wasted your money at any of the above schools that you attended.

Now, I was on the Prescott Golden Eagles Flight Team from 1999-2002, and I'll will agree that some people seemed to despise us, such as what is shown on this thread. The only reason however, is because when tryouts came, these people only put in a half-a$$ effort and were quickly weeded out. The flight team is something that I will always say that I was proud to be a part of, and the knowledge and experiences I gained from that are priceless. As for the rivalry between UND, and ERAU-PRC, that's another story. Both teams are very competitive, and that's because both teams put an extremely large amount of time and practice into being the best. Western Michigan has a very good team as well.
Nonetheless, it's silly to argue about which school is better, they're all good as long as you realize that you get out what you put in.

my 2 cents

Look Embry-Riddle just has more connections within the airline industry. They have more internships and more direct entry hire programs.
They have internships but not more "direct hire" programs. In fact, the only "direct hire" program Riddle has is as flight instructor at Riddle.

Have you even been in an airplane? I think not. Your lack of response to my questions about ERJs, CRJs and UND is conspicuous by its absence.

Flamebait.

actually, riddle even laid off around 76 flight instructors around june of this year. they are probably back now though, for fall classes. But after sept 11th, they were not even taking there home grown people for a while.

I would like to go to Embry Riddle- is it true they gurantee a job with Continental Express- I don't want to fly props after I get out of school - I only want to fly jets - COEX is going to be an all jet fleet this year - i want to fly for them - will a be guaranteed a job with them ??? or should I go fly at GIA- I hear they are taking over all of COEX prop routes - and all of their ATRs?- I would pay ten grand for that - and skip embry riddle all together- T

You got to be **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**tin me.........

Allright, good joke. I found some of your other posts. It's actually pretty funny. You are probably a tool, but I got a laugh from your posts.

i can not believe some of the crap ive read on this thread. who cares if riddle or und is better. I went to riddle and i guarantee i fly just as well as a und grad and vice versa....as for riddle guaranteeing a job with COEX. NO WAY! are you kidding me? Riddle cant guarantee crap.

As for Riddleace. You sound like a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** idiot man. a jet pilot huh? wow, you should be in a movie talking like that. Or on CNN talking about a plane that crashed 1 hour ago and speculating about crap because you have 1 hour in a c150 and think you should be captain of a 747. I guess reporters on the news talking about airplanes should be an entire different thread.

Anyways, Riddleace, just shut up. with my BS from ERAU DAB, im ashamed to have you representing us online. Just go down to the flight line, hang with all the instructors who think they should be CRJ captains without ever being an FO you mag grounding piece of ****

alrighty riddle ace, i have doubts that you even fly let alone goto riddle...you cant answer some previous questions from before so riddle me this..........

Who is the chief IP at Riddle DAB?
Who is head of AEROSCI DAB?
There is a 2 # prefix on all P.O. boxes running in and out of
ERAU. If i was in box 1152 then what would my address be?

I'm the jet pilot and you're the paralegal. I think that says it all.
Jet "Pilot" for whom? Considering that I have six times the flight time that you purportedly have and multiengine time twice that of your total time says what you really are - a fraud.

By the way, your response to Lrjetcaptain certainly exhibits the maturity of a "jet" pilot.

You're not fooling anyone with all your alter-ego screen names, i.e., PFTSuperstar, Gulfstreamforever, etc.

Man, I feel sorry for the guys that have to fly with these young sociopaths. In my day, we'd just take them out behind the gym and kick their smart aleck little a**es.

On the other hand, maybe they are so good that they can hold the detached wing onto a jet fighter, like in Hot Shots, while being tailed by "Humus" "Pita" and "Baklavah".

:D :D :D
