I'm trying to get some current gouge on returning to active duty as a pilot. Anybody out there who has information that can possibly lead to my return to the cockpit will be on my Christmas card list.

I was a student in the USMC F/A-18 RAG/FRS and had a cockpit decompression which lead to a sinus surgery and subsequent reassignment to the KC-130. While flying the KC-130 I got temp. grounded due to some complications from the surgery and subsequently got discharged from the Corps due to my contract ending before I could be put back on flight status.

6 months after leaving the Marines I got a medical upchit from the Navy NAMRL/NAMI and was waivered to return to flying, but the problem was that I was no longer on active duty, and the Marines were not recalling anybody at the time. So, I put in a packet with the USCG and passed their interview with flying colors, but was not assessed at the HQ level due to funding.

I'm now a Major in the Army (mobilized to active duty for OEF) and have been out of the military cockpit for 4 years. I'm working on a CFI, CFII and MEI in the meantime to keep current and get some ratings. I really want to get back in the cockpit with the AF/AFRES/or Air Guard. Does anyone have any ideas on my best route of attack?
