Retired Comair Check Airmen

The Union recently brought to the Companies attention two sim check airmen were who are retired from Comair are working in violation of our agreement.
One other soon to be retired check airmen who intented to stay on after retirement will be effected too.
A lot of people are upset about this. Any one with ant info?

Interesting. Is it legal to have a contract that prohibits a pilot age 60 or over from being a sim instructor/ check airman? I have no idea, but it seems those guys might have a good case for age discrimination. The FAR's only prohibit a age 60 pilot from flying part 121, not simulator work. I know several FAA inspectors well past age 60.

apparently it all boils down to this - they can still work but shouldn't be doing checking events and apparently they have been for a while. sounds to me like they stick to non-jeopardy events from now on and everything's peachy.

We have a couple at PDT that come and do work in the simulator if it gets really busy. I don't think there's an age limit on it.
