I have a few resumes I'm sending out and the contact name from HR/People Dept. has me guessing wheather it is a man or a woman. One name is Kelly and the other is Jackie. I don't want to assume they are women and address the cover letter to Mrs. XXXXX. Is it too informal to play it safe and say Dear Jackie or Dear Kelly? Any thoughts?

Simple solution....do some research and call the company. Companies like it when you put some effort into finding out info on the company. Hell, maybe you and somebody else is sending out resumes and the other guy does what you are thinking and you get the correct Mrs. or Mr.....could win you the interview if not the job. Never know. Good Luck
