Hello,

Can anyone supply a list of BBJ operators in SoCal? I know of the Disney Family and Clay Lacy at VNY.

I have a friend retiring the airlines who is highly qualified in the B737 and I would like to help him out with this info.

I welcome specifics with pay, RON's, annual hours, and other QOL issues, as well as company culture if anyone has this info. Also, if any operators are looking for flight crew, that would be good to know.

Thanks to all who can contribute.

Cheers,

Bo

Bbj

I have been looking for the same position for months without any luck. Keep me posted if you find anything.

Thanks

Is that PT91 757 still based at KBUR? I have'nt seen it for awhile. I've flown the owner a few times. Sounded like an interesting gig for a retired airline guy/gal.

There is also that rich casino guy who owns a bbj.He name kirk or kent.He is based out of VNY.Does anybody know anything about disney or netscape?

the 757 is still at bur and the rich casino guy is kirk kerkorian, it's in vny a lot but i believe it's las based, i may be wrong. he owns the mgm

Thanks for the replies.

I had a friend working on the B757 at BUR and the pay was not where he felt it should be. The raise was always coming, but never did materialize so he moved on. I don't know if things are still run that way there now. I see the plane taxi by as I sit on the ramp waiting for pax to show and it sure looks like fun. What is it called, "The skinny girl with the big ..."

I will look for the latest NBAA Directory and see what I can find. The last one I saw in the office was from 2002.

It's probably pretty tough to fly for Kirk. My Dad plays tennis with one of his pilots - ex. Air Force One for Regan and Bush!

I believe the airplane belongs Ukaipa. The owner owns Ralphs Markets as well as several other grocery chains. Obviously very sucessful. BIG contributor and fund raiser for the Democrats. Clinton is a frequent guest on the airplane.

Don't think Kirkorian has a B757, unless it is a very recent purchase. The 57's are pretty much between Vulcan at BFI and the BUR aircraft. Also, do not think the the airport authority will let the 57 land at VNY. Certainly capable, but politics
seem to drive the decision rather than reality.

TAG Aviation has been out of the picture for a little over two years. All aircraft aircraft are Part 91 with the exception of one Boeing which is on their own Part 125 certificate.

Heh-heh . . . A B75 under Part 91 . . . That's my kind of 91!

Well maybe not quite a pure 91 operation as the FAA requires "large" aircraft like this to be under Part 125. Then you apply for and get a Part 91 exemption for the operations. The biggest difference is that with a pure 125 operations, you need Ops Specs, with the 91 operation you can do it with LOAs.

That's interesting. I wondered how that would work. So, are the LOA's for things such as lower than standard takeoff minimums, deicing procedures, operational control, things like that?

LOA's typically cover items like MNPS/RVSM/RNP/CATll/lll/ etc. Anything that would fall under Ops Specs in a Part 125/135/121 operation would live in the LOA file. Since Part 91 is self dispatched it is not covered in a LOA.
