How long is the training, particularly on the CRJ? What do they pay during training? Is it meal allowance and lodging (anything else)? How often do classes start? Understand it's in Earth City, MO for the CRJ?

Benefits: Med/Dental, how much do they pay for that? Understand it's 30 days after hire before insurance kicks in?

Uniforms: Understand out of pocket and you get an allowance after being there for a year?

Training lasts about 7 or 8 weeks if there are no long breaks from the beginning of Indoc to the your checkride. People seem to be waiting quite a while between their checkride and IOE right now because there are not enough Check Airmen on the CRJ yet. You are paid $400/wk during the first four weeks of training which is a meal allowance and is not taxed. After the first month, you are paid guarantee which is taxed. They seem to be starting at least one CRJ class every month. Indoc is in Indianapolis, and I believe systems is at the FSI in St. Louis. I have heard that some people are being sent out to Denver for sim, but I'm not on the CRJ so I am not positive. The company pays everything for your dental and vision benefits and you pay $45/pay check for medical for a single person. I don't know what the rate is for a family. Insurance kicks in after 30 days of employment. The initial uniform expense is out of pocket and then they give you a $200 credit each year after one year of employment. There have been a lot of new hires assigned STL on the 145 right out of training, but there is so much movement in the company right now that you could probably hold any base you wanted within a couple of months besides LGA or BUF. Hope this helps.

When you say checkride, are you talking sim or IOE? I'm assuming you mean 7-8 weeks is the indoc/simulator time and IOE comes later, or is it 7-8 weeks for everything?

Anyone out there know how much the family medical rate is?

Thanks a bunch.

After your checkride in the sim, long wait for IOE for the CRJ. 7-8 weeks from day one of indoc until end of sim, then IOE after that.

Enjoying a nice paid vacation

I got done with sim training on the CRJ in mid march. It has been six weeks now since I finished the checkride and I'm still waiting on IOE. The first few guys in my class are just starting to get called for IOE and there's about 35 of us (15 upgrades and 20 new hires). CRP is probably the most junior for CRJ FOs, although everyone in my class pretty much got what base they wanted. I'm not sure about future classes though, because I don't know how big each of the CRJ bases are going to get.

Family medical drops to 90/check after one year.

Family medical is 133 per check..... Kinda steep

1st year...then it drops to $90/pay check. Great West Insurance. Not the best for Air Carriers, but it is good. Eye and Dental are included.

Just had an MRI done for a sports injury. $1100 fee. GW paid all but $26. Flex Benefits will help with the remaining balance.
