I am wondering when they make you sign the training bond contract, and when the 2 years start counting down (hire date, SIC checkride, linetraining checkride)?

Is the bond pro-rated?

What about vacation time first year / second year?

Sick time accumulated?

Since Republic flies for US-Airways, will that be the only travel benefits? How soon to be able to use them?

Thanks for any input

1.) Two yr contract from date of hire.

2.)Yes it is pro-rated.

3.)First year you accumulate 4 hrs worth of sick/vacation time a month. If you call off sick, you recieve 4 hrs of credit for the day. If you take a week of vacation it is worth 18.5 hours....so....you basically get a week of vacation after your first 5 months.....its all the same.

4.) You should get bennies for the code share at your base so either USairways or frontier(DEN).

5.) You ca jumpseat with your ID and bennies whenever the travel dept inputs your info.

Sounds like seniority is not honored either for upgrade. Why bother with a contract if the company is just going to do what it wants. But IT IS A 14 MONTH UPGRADE!!!!! YEA BABY

Is that Cherry or Grape flavored? Ohhh.. its that extra sugar Kickin Kiwi Lime Kool-Aid you be drinkin.

Keep dreaming. More like 24-28 months.

You missed the point.

1) It was sarcasm.

2) If the company gets away with their latest fast one they're trying to pull, upgrades will be awarded to whomever they decide should get one, based upon what they decide are their staffing needs. Upgrades will be awarded based on luck rather than seniority.

Yikes! Good luck guys, sounds like you've got a battle on.

I heard it was the IBT that proposed the upgrade scenario to the company. No flame, and I don't know all the details. Just heard from several folks there that the proposal came from the union. Any comment on that?

No, your info is wrong.

Several EXCO members were present at a meeting, which was addressing the crew shortage problem. During the meeting the company suggested the seniority bypass thing - as there were only a couple of EXCO guys there, they (apparently) told them to put it in writing for the full EXCO to look at. There was never any intention of accepting it, but as with everything here, you'd better have it in triplicate before you do anything!
The company has hired a big time union busting attorney from Atlanta to be it's head of labor relations - he's coming up with all of this crap, to test the will of the pilot group. We're pissed!! The company has had a mountain of grievances filed this week, over this.

As of yet, no harm has actually been done, but the threat is there! It won't happen, because even our idiot lawyer can win this one: They have always used the seniority system to upgrade in the past, there was NEVER any agreement and they made too much money recently to claim hardship!!

Bottom line: It's gonna be a big fight!

It doesn't matter who suggested what. Neither the lawyer or the EC had the authority to agree to it anyway. The only way this could have been approved would be a ratification vote of the membership, which did not happen, and would not have passed if it had.

The weasel company backed itself into a corner staffing-wise, then decided the best way to handle it was to wipe their smelly butts with the contract, and spin it so it appeared it was the union leadership's idea.
