It was relevant here because when Frontier was in Chapter 11. RAH was talking about all the jobs in Denver they would preserve if they won the bid. Now since they won the bid there have been hundreds of jobs moved out of DEN.
This is nothing new...back in the early 80's, a little known holding company known as Texas Air Corp., was trying to take over Continental Airlines (CAL).
The only airline that TAC owned was Texas International ( TXI). frank lorenzo, the chairman of TAC had made his offer to the BOD of CAL. The employees of CAL tried to buy the company themselves...that didn't work...but they lobbied the California State Legislature. the legislature was then told by frank lorenzo that if they would get out of his way, his promise to them was that the state of Californis would not lose any jobs if TAC took over CAL. And that the HQ of the combined airline ( TXI and CAL) would stay at the former CAL HQ in LAX.
Once the Legislature got out of the way....and frank took over CAL, within months, he moved the CAL HQ to Houston, where the courts looked more favorable towards corporations...and the rest is history...
...and look where Frontier is today....
